ICCSD Unified Sports Building Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to organize and coordinate all aspects of the Unified Sports Program within the building, including the duties of any coaches or volunteers, as well as possibly performing coaching duties for one or more designated teams. A primary focus is the establishment and maintenance of a positive and respectful learning environment and working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents/guardians, and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- NFHS Certification-Coaching Unified Sports & Administering Interscholastic Unified Sports *may work towards certification
- CPR & First Aid Certification-Red Cross
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Coaching experience preferred
- Experience working with middle school and/or high school youth
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of District Activities
JOB GOALS: To create a powerful community of acceptance and inclusion through sport. To join people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same teams. To provide skills that will engage all levels of athletes and promote physical activity to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the building system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
