What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Teacher/Van Driver position at West Haven Preschool?
Duties
- Assist with building clean-up prior to student pick-up.
- Safely transport children from the elementary school to West Haven Preschool.
- Supervise children and maintain a safe, engaging environment.
- Serve afternoon snack.
- Assist children with homework and educational activities.
- Lead games, crafts, and enrichment activities.
- Prepare the classroom for closing and ensure children are safely released to authorized adults.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving a small multifunction school bus (training provided, if applicable).
- Dependable, patient, and enjoys working with school-age children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- At least 18 years old
- Certified in Child CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety preferred
- Successfully passing State and Federal criminal background check (fingerprints required), as well as a drug screen
- This position is 2p-6p. Additional hours may be discussed. Candidate must be able to work full-time hours on days school is not in session.
