Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to determine individual needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures including laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, IV insertion, catheterization, and sterile technique procedures.
- Provide specialized nursing care in areas such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency room, trauma medicine, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), dialysis, hospice & palliative medicine, and pediatrics.
- Manage acute pain through appropriate interventions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management and discharge planning.
- Support patients with complex needs such as those requiring ventilator management, ostomy care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics like medication administration, nutrition, wound care (including suturing), and post-acute care instructions.
- Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment during procedures like aseptic technique applications or sterile processing.
- Participate in triage activities in urgent care or outpatient settings to prioritize patient needs efficiently.
Qualifications
- Valid RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing with the state licensing board.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, ICU (including Level I & II Trauma Centers), emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in IV infusion techniques, medication administration, venipuncture, tube feeding management, and specimen collection/processing.
- Critical care experience including ICU or trauma medicine is desirable; experience in hospice & palliative care or behavioral health is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations accurately while maintaining aseptic technique standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and health education across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and familiarity with infection control protocols are advantageous.
