Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to students’ skill levels and interests, incorporating elements of music theory, technique, and performance.
- Deliver engaging piano lessons that motivate students and promote consistent progress.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a respectful and focused learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles, including working with children, early childhood education, and special education needs.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Organize recitals or performances to showcase student achievements and boost confidence.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children and youth programs teaching arts or music, with a focus on piano instruction.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development and lesson planning for various age groups, including preschool and early childhood education.
- Background in classroom management, behavior management, and childhood development strategies.
- Experience teaching visual & performing arts such as dance (ballet), theater, or photography is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with teaching instrumental performance techniques specific to the piano or other musical instruments.
- Knowledge of choreography, dance instruction, or theater experience that complements musical education is a plus.
- Prior tutoring or adult education experience in creative arts or music enhances your suitability for this role.
