Overview
We are seeking a skilled Stand Up Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support warehouse distribution, shipping, and receiving operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse processes, materials handling, and safety protocols, with experience in various types of heavy equipment operation including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks. Prior warehouse management system familiarity and OSHA compliance knowledge are essential to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Duties
- Operate stand-up forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Utilize RF scanners for order picking and inventory management
- Load and unload shipments accurately while adhering to safety standards
- Assist with order picking using various equipment such as pallet jacks and clamp trucks
- Support shipping & receiving activities by managing inbound and outbound goods
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, following OSHA guidelines
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning
- Maintain organized work areas and ensure materials are handled efficiently
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency
- Support warehouse management system updates for inventory tracking and order processing
Skills
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and order pickers
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling techniques
- Ability to operate RF scanners and utilize warehouse management systems effectively
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance checks on equipment
- Experience in construction or similar environments involving heavy lifting and materials handling is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for inventory accuracy
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while adhering to all safety regulations
