Job Responsibilities
- This position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
- Transfer raw materials from storage to production using a riding pallet jack or forklift.
- Move finished products from the production line to the freezer.
- Offload delivered raw materials and supplies to the storage area; organize items according to facility specifications.
- Stack and organize pallets and maintain a clean working area.
- Remove empty combos and garbage pallets from the department.
- Comply with all facility and organizational policies related to workplace conduct, workplace safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and other operational requirements.
- Understand and apply appropriate safety procedures through training, use of protective equipment, and adherence to all safety policies, regulations, and standards.
- Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders; route materials and record shipment data (e.g., weight, charges, space availability, and discrepancies) in the computer system.
- Prepare outbound products with appropriate seals and labels; stage materials for pickup using equipment such as scales, postage meters, hand tools, power tools, and hand trucks.
- Receive inbound deliveries by reviewing contents, order records, manifests, and invoices to verify accuracy; record receipts in the computer system and arrange storage per established procedures.
- Respond to customer inquiries courteously, accurately, and promptly. Investigate issues related to shipping, inventory, and costs; refer complex issues as needed.
- Perform routine clerical tasks including filing, sorting, printing, copying, and faxing.
- Follow all organizational rules, including work rules, employment policies, safety procedures, and GMPs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
- 0–1 years of experience in a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Outlook and Excel.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, conveyors, and personnel (may vary by role).
- Some work may occur in an office environment.
- No domestic travel required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May require bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, using hands/fingers, talking, hearing, and operating tools or controls.
- May require standing or walking on concrete flooring for more than 4 hours.
