Stand-Up Forklift Operator

Job Responsibilities

• This position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
• Transfer raw materials from storage to production using a riding pallet jack or forklift.
• Move finished products from the production line to the freezer.
• Offload delivered raw materials and supplies to the storage area; organize items according to facility specifications.
• Stack and organize pallets and maintain a clean working area.
• Remove empty combos and garbage pallets from the department.
• Comply with all facility and organizational policies related to workplace conduct, workplace safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and other operational requirements.
• Understand and apply appropriate safety procedures through training, use of protective equipment, and adherence to all safety policies, regulations, and standards.
• Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders; route materials and record shipment data (e.g., weight, charges, space availability, and discrepancies) in the computer system.
• Prepare outbound products with appropriate seals and labels; stage materials for pickup using equipment such as scales, postage meters, hand tools, power tools, and hand trucks.
• Receive inbound deliveries by reviewing contents, order records, manifests, and invoices to verify accuracy; record receipts in the computer system and arrange storage per established procedures.
• Respond to customer inquiries courteously, accurately, and promptly. Investigate issues related to shipping, inventory, and costs; refer complex issues as needed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks including filing, sorting, printing, copying, and faxing.
• Follow all organizational rules, including work rules, employment policies, safety procedures, and GMPs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

• 0–1 years of experience in a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Outlook and Excel.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, conveyors, and personnel (may vary by role).
• Some work may occur in an office environment.
• No domestic travel required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May require bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, using hands/fingers, talking, hearing, and operating tools or controls.
• May require standing or walking on concrete flooring for more than 4 hours.
