West Chester Township Emergency Communications Department is accepting applications for the position of Communications Supervisor (Dispatch Supervisor). The Communications Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of the Communications Center during assigned work hours. They will manage the personnel scheduling for Communications Officers and other Supervisors; develop and enforce the policies and procedures for the department/township; Prepare training materials for new hires and update/refresh current employees as needed. They will also perform all the job functions of the Communications Officer.
Communication Officers process emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS using computer-aided dispatch technology.
You must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends; this is a stressful, demanding, fast-paced job involving life and death situations. The pay rate for this position is $34.05 per hour. Experience may be considered for the rate.

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of emergency dispatch experience
- Strong/advanced communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledgeable on policy and standard operating procedures/guidelines
- Able to exercise sound judgement and remain calm in the midst of stressful situations
- Teamwork and basic supervisory skills
- Intermediate knowledge of computer usage and able to type at least 45 wpm accurately. Use of multiple computers, including 6-7 computer monitors simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
