The West Chester Area School District has the following Extended School Year (ESY) positions available (*Certification requirements – appropriate valid school certification):
ESY Mental Health Support Professional - Summer 2026
Position Summary:
The ESY Mental Health Support Professional provides short-term, solution-focused counseling and behavioral support to students enrolled in a 5-week Extended School Year (ESY) program. This role focuses on promoting emotional regulation, coping skills, and student readiness for learning within a structured summer setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide brief, goal-oriented individual counseling to students
- Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with ESY staff to implement strategies that support student success
- Respond to immediate student mental health needs and provide crisis support as needed
- Maintain appropriate documentation in compliance with district and legal requirements
**Must work full days for the full program duration**
Five Week Program
Location: Henderson High School and Greystone Elementary
Dates: June 22, 2026- July 23, 2026
Times: approx. 7:30-12:30
Monday through Thursday (closed 7/2 & 7/3)
Compensation: Paid 100% of hourly rate for summer programs 2023-2027. Planning and preparation will be paid at curriculum rate, and not hourly rate.
