What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake-Access Clinician position at West Central Behavioral Hea?
West Central Behavioral Health is seeking applicants for the newly created Access and Intake Clinician position. The individual will be responsible for performing intake and assessments for all new clients starting services at West Central.
Do you believe your life’s purpose is dedicated to helping those who cannot help themselves?
Do you enjoy the challenge of helping people open up about their mental health and/or behavioral concerns?
Is your inner detective adept at uncovering clues that reveal the problems behind emotional and behavioral issues on a case by case basis?
Are you able to elicit information to make a diagnosis?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, we want you to join our new Intake-Access Team.
The Mental Health Therapist performs the initial interview for Intake, compile all necessary information, and assess the primary and secondary diagnoses. Once you have determined issues and assessed level of function, you will decide which team is best suited for the client, if the client is not safe and may need hospitalization, recommend coping skills to avert a crisis, or facilitate referral for assistance with medication. If desired, you may carry a small caseload.
The ideal candidate is able to organize their thought processes to write up a thorough and complete client evaluation, is able to multitask, passion for investigative techniques, and work independently.
We care about our staff and do not follow the sink or swim philosophy of so many organizations. Rather we take the time to train you thoroughly in procedures, technology and practices. You will have the opportunity to shadow an experienced clinician, receive clinical supervision with a psychiatrist, and participate in team meetings and one-on-one supervision.
- Master's degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling or equivalent clinical discipline. The degree program must include a minimum of one semester of an on-site, supervised clinical practicum and/or internship.
- One year of post-degree, supervised experience in the provision of assessment and psychotherapy
- NH Mental Health licensure, preferred
- ANSA (Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment) Certification
- CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs Strength) Certification
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn necessary computer and technical skills essential to the position and agency.
- Knowledge of and experience with CMHC systems and use of electronic health records
- Prior experience in a community mental health environment desired.
