Position Overview:
The Optometric Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations. This position involves greeting patients, managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and supporting the clinical team to deliver an excellent patient experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a warm and professional manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Verify insurance information and collect co-pays
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
- Process payments and handle basic billing tasks
- Coordinate with optometrists and staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Keep the reception area clean and organized
Qualifications:
- Previous receptionist or customer service experience (healthcare experience preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Basic computer proficiency (experience with EHR systems is a plus)
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
