Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using EHR systems.
- Collect and record vital signs, medical history, and current medications accurately to support clinical assessments.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as taking patient histories, preparing examination rooms, and supporting procedures including X-ray and medication administration.
- Support physicians with specialized areas such as dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics as needed.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake processes, and follow-up communications to ensure smooth clinic flow.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding for diagnoses, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks or assist with imaging procedures like X-ray when required, especially in emergency medicine or Level I/II trauma center environments.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Support administrative functions including billing support, insurance verification, and maintaining organized medical records.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a clinical setting such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency departments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and ICD coding practices.
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions is essential.
- Experience working in specialized areas such as geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or inpatient hospital units is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma center environments enhances your ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or hospital experience are a plus.
