Position Summary
West Branch Community School District is seeking a student-centered leader to serve as Activities Director / Student Success Coordinator. This role combines leadership of extracurricular programs with direct support for student attendance, behavior, and overall school climate, ensuring all students are supported and engaged.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support (Grades 5–12)
- Address chronic absenteeism (10%) through monitoring, communication, and family meetings
- Support student behavior and discipline in collaboration with building principals
- Monitor discipline data, assist with investigations, and follow up on interventions
- Participate in MTSS/iTeam processes and support social-emotional-behavioral needs
- Respond to student crises using appropriate intervention strategies (CPI trained)
- Maintain strong communication with students, families, and staff
Activities Leadership
- Oversee and align all extracurricular programs with district goals
- Ensure equitable access and safe, well-supervised events
- Coordinate scheduling, facilities, and event logistics
- Maintain visible leadership presence at activities
- Liaison between school and sports boosters/ fine arts boosters
Staff & Operations
- Supervise and evaluate coaches and activity staff
- Assist with hiring and professional development
- Manage budgets, facilities, and compliance with policies
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in activities and/or educational leadership (preferred)
- Activities and/or educational administrative experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of MTSS, student behavior, and equity practices
