Elementary Teacher (26-27 SY)

Purpose Statement: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our vibrant school community at West Bay Christian Academy. This role offers the opportunity to nurture young learners during their foundational years while thoughtfully integrating biblical principles into daily instruction. The ideal candidate will create a warm, engaging, and interactive classroom environment where students feel supported, curious, and excited to learn. Through creative teaching and intentional guidance, the teacher will help students build strong academic skills, develop a love of learning, and grow in their understanding of the world through a biblical perspective. Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Head of School, collaborates with the Academic Dean and Lead Teacher Position Type: Full-time Responsibilities and Duties:

• Write and implement daily lesson plans that engage and motivate students
• Integrate Biblical principles with curriculum, instruction, relationships, discipline and the entire school community
• Integrate thematic curriculum with appropriate instructional strategies and methods with varied student learning styles
• Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both academic and behavioral progress
• Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote a positive learning environment
• Invest in professional growth and development

Minimum Requirements:

• Committed Christian, aligned with the Academy’s Mission and Statement of Faith, actively attending a local church
• Bachelor's Degree
• Commitment to a Christian Philosophy of Education
• Possesses the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and other outside agencies or local school districts

Preferred Requirements:

• Current RI Teacher Certification in elementary education
• ACSI Certificate
• Prior teaching experience
• College credits in biblical studies

Success in this role will be evidenced when:

• Students are experiencing academic growth evidenced through daily classroom work and progress monitoring.
• The teacher and parents are collaborating and working well together on behalf of each student.
• Responsibilities for this role are being met at a high level as demonstrated through the teacher development process
