What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Real Estate Field Assisant/Showing Agent position at Wessel Team Home Sales?
Real Estate Field Assistant / Showing Agent
Wessel Team Home Sales | Coldwell Banker Plaza East
Wichita, Kansas and surrounding communities
Starting at $15/hour, with higher pay depending on experience and skills
Part-time with strong potential to grow into full-time
We’re looking for a dependable, personable, hands-on person to join our residential real estate team.
This is a hybrid position combining listing preparation, contractor coordination, inspection/repair support, and buyer showings. This is not primarily a desk or paperwork position. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being out in the field, inside houses, working with people, solving problems, and making sure things actually get done.
A major part of this role will be helping get homes ready for the market. That may include:
- Walking through upcoming listings with the lead Realtor and sellers to help create a plan for getting the home market-ready.
- Contacting contractors and vendors for estimates and availability.
- Coordinating painters, cleaners, handymen, plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, flooring professionals and other vendors.
- Scheduling contractors and helping organize the order in which work needs to be completed.
- Meeting contractors at properties, reviewing projects and obtaining estimates.
- Communicating with sellers about scheduling and progress.
- Following up on work and helping make sure projects are completed before photography and market launch.
The role would also help with active transactions, including:
- Attending inspections when needed.
- Gathering repair estimates and helping coordinate repairs.
- Meeting contractors, inspectors, appraisers and vendors at properties.
- Following up to confirm agreed-upon work has been completed.
- Putting up or removing signs, riders and lockboxes.
- Checking vacant properties or handling other field-related needs.
When listing prep, inspections and contractor work are lighter, this person would also help with buyers by:
- Showing homes to existing team clients.
- Providing backup showing coverage.
- Helping buyers compare properties and gather information.
- Communicating showing feedback and property details back to the lead Realtor.
- Helping keep the home-search process moving.
We care much more about reliability, common sense, communication, personality and follow-through than formal education. College is not required.
You may be a good fit if you:
- Like houses and residential real estate.
- Enjoy working with people.
- Are comfortable talking with contractors and homeowners.
- Can take a project from “this needs to be done” to contractors scheduled and work completed.
- Are dependable and comfortable working independently.
- Communicate well by phone and text.
- Can keep track of multiple moving pieces.
- Don’t mind driving throughout Wichita and surrounding communities.
- Have some daytime availability for inspections and contractor appointments.
- Can occasionally accommodate evening or weekend buyer showings.
Experience with construction, home repairs, property management, contracting, real estate or home inspections is helpful but not required.
You do not need to already have a real estate license to apply. For the right person, we are very open to helping you become licensed and on the job training so you can assist with buyer showings and other licensed activities. In some ways, we prefer finding the right personality and work ethic first and teaching the real estate side from there.
This is not intended to be a traditional Realtor-training position or a pathway for someone whose primary goal is to build their own independent sales business. The purpose of this role is to support our existing team, clients, listings and transactions as a long-term part of the business.
This is an hourly position starting at $15/hour, with higher starting pay possible depending on experience, licensing, contractor or construction knowledge, and other relevant skills. No commission or closing bonus is included at this time.
The position is expected to begin part-time, with the potential to grow into additional hours or full-time employment as the role develops and the fit is proven on both sides.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
Benefits:
- Dental insurance
- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- Professional development assistance
- Vision insurance
