Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

The assistant strength and conditioning coach plays a vital role within the Wesleyan School physical education and athletic departments. This position supports the director of strength and conditioning in designing and implementing comprehensive training programs that promote athletic performance, safety, and overall wellness. This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting to the director of strength and conditioning and the physical education department chair.


Responsibilities


• Lead team strength and conditioning sessions before and after school.
• Co-teach high school strength classes in collaboration with the director of strength and Conditioning.
• Assist in supervising middle school strength classes on designated days.
• Support the management and administration of the strength and conditioning program.
• Maintain and update middle school programming and assist with high school program development.
• Contribute to the implementation of the nutrition program.
• Collect, analyze, and report performance data to monitor athlete progress.
• Collaborate with PE teachers to ensure effective program delivery across middle and high school levels.
• Oversee technology integration for wearable devices and related applications.
• Enhance the program’s social media presence to promote engagement and visibility.
• Co-lead summer training sessions, including set up, breakdown, and data collection.


Qualifications


• Grounded in the Christian faith with a strong understanding of the role of athletics within a Christian school environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in health, physical education, exercise science, or a related field.
• CSCS or SCCC certification required or must obtain upon hiring.
• HSSCC certification will be required upon hiring.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player with a positive, encouraging attitude.
• Innovative and forward-thinking, with the ability to develop new programs and initiatives.
• Prior experience implementing training programs for both male and female athletes in a school setting strongly preferred.
