As the IT Manager over Database Administration (DBA), you will lead the teams responsible for the overall lifecycle of mission-critical Oracle, Teradata, and SQL Server database environments. Responsibilities
This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.
For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.

As the IT Manager over Database Administration (DBA), you will lead the teams responsible for the overall lifecycle of mission-critical Oracle, Teradata, and SQL Server database environments. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic oversight, ensuring our data architecture is scalable, secure, and fully compliant with global audit standards.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for oversight of SQL Server, Oracle, and Teradata DBAs to ensure best practices are being followed and databases are secure, scalable, and performing optimally
- Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams of SQL Server, Oracle and Teradata DBAs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical and operational excellence.
- Assigns personnel and schedule workflow to facilitate projects.
- Analyzes performance indicators such as number of transactions per second, response time, and number of transactions being processed to ensure systems are operating efficiently.
- Analyzes problems and capabilities to develop solutions for improved operating procedures, alternate processing methods, communications, information flow, management reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Directs training or trains personnel in operation of information equipment.
- Confers with programming personnel and oversee testing of new and revised programs and procedures.
- Responsible for oversight of evaluating, developing, and maintaining data systems.
- Responsible for oversight of scheduling, planning, and execution of routine patching upgrades, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Audit & Compliance: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits (GCC, SOX). Ensure all database activities are logged, monitored, and compliant.
- Contribute as part of an interdisciplinary team to resolve P1 issues in timely manner.
- Ensure that database teams operate within formal ITIL frameworks to ensure all changes are communicated.
- Identifies system needs and directs composition of new and revised program instructions and observes operational effects.
- Provides guidance to assist operators in locating and overcoming error conditions.
- Makes minor program and input data revisions to maintain operations.
- Notifies programming and maintenance personnel if unable to locate and correct cause of error or failure.
- Revises operating schedule to adjust for delays.
- Prepares or reviews records and reports of production, operating, and down time.
- Recommends changes in programs, routines, and quality control standards.
- Meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Develops computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
- Presents recommendations to management relating to purchasing and installing hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment.
- Stays abreast of advances in technology.
- Bachelors degree required.
- 5 years required, 7 years preferred of data processing, system analysis design, and operations experience.
- Certifications: (Preferred) Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Teradata Vantage Certified Master, or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor).
- Expertise in Oracle database 12c, 19c, and beyond.
- Deep knowledge of Oracle RAC and Data Guard, for high availability.
- Experience managing Oracle databases running on Exadata.
- Oracle EBS Apps DBA experience.
- Experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus
- Understanding of Teradata Vantage and Parallel Transporter (TPT).
- Proficiency in Teradata Viewpoint, TASM (Teradata Active System Management), and PDCR.
- 3 years preferred of supervising work of subordinate employees experience.
- Programming and systems analysis.
- Solid analytical skills - able to solve problems & interpret instructions in any form
- Project management expertise in planning and completing large and small projects
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership ability as a creative, competent team builder.
