Wendell Foster is interested in hiring an energetic Direct Support Professional for our Day Training Department to join the team of #DifferenceMakers!
What matters to you:
- Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 3:30 pm
- New hourly rate starting at $16.00

What matters to us:
- Must have a High School diploma or G.E.D
- Possession of valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Currently possess or able to complete first aid and CPR certification (training provided)
- Complete all training required by the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (training provided)
Essential Functions:
- Understand the individuals’ rights and display respect and dignity when interacting with the individuals
- Ensures the safety and well-being of individuals and implements the plan of care
- Understand the departmental policy on the correct way to report any suspected form of abuse that may be observed and/or reported
- Serves as a member of the individual’s plan of care team
- Assists with daily living such as: walking, getting dressed, personal hygiene, eating, using the toilet, bathing, meal planning and preparation, laundry, budgeting and financial assistance, home care, and cleaning
- Provide emotional support advice, and assistance to help the individual work through problems
- Provide or arrange for transportation to services, activities, and medical appointments as needed
- Actively participates in medical appointments and follow-up care as directed by the physician
