What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Manager position at Wenatchee Wild?
The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are looking for a Head Equipment Manager. This is a full-time position with benefits. Listed below are some of the duties & expectations of the position:
(a) Work closely with the Head Coach with daily practice and game day schedules.
(b) Work closely with the General Manager on equipment inventory and equipment ordering.
(c) Sharpen skates as required for games and practices.
(d) Maintain and repair team equipment as needed.
(e) Keep accurate records of all equipment assigned to players.
(f) Responsible for laundry, i.e. uniforms, towels, underwear, etc.
(g) Maintain & repair game and practice jerseys
(g) Prepare equipment for home games.
(h) Set up & organize equipment on the bench and administer player equipment needs during games or practices.
(i) Work with the coaching staff in terms of pre-game, game, and post-game organizational procedures with the dressing room and player bench.
(j) Work with the hockey staff in preparation of Fall Camp and camp procedures. Coordinate, control and monitor the distribution of all Fall Camp equipment.
(k) Prepare a monthly stick inventory for accounting purposes.
(l) Maintain and regularly clean the following: team dressing room, shower area, bathroom area, workout area, equipment, skate sharpening room, laundry room, equipment storage room, staff shower bathroom area and coach’s office.
(m) Maintain communication and work closely with the coaching staff and General Manager within the budget framework, philosophies, and regulations established by the organization.
(n) Assist in loading & unloading team bus for road games
(o) Other duties may be required.
