WellSuited Talent is partnering with a well-established general contractor with a growing presence in the Raleigh, NC market to identify a Project Manager to lead active construction projects throughout the Triangle region. The client has built a strong reputation across the Carolinas for delivering high-quality commercial work in healthcare, education, public safety, mixed-use, and community-focused sectors.

The Opportunity
The Project Manager will lead onsite project execution from pre-construction handoff through closeout, owning the budget, schedule, subcontractor management, and client relationship for assigned projects. This is a true ownership role with strong support from leadership and meaningful growth potential as the Raleigh office continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall project execution including budget, schedule, quality, and safety performance
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
- Manage buyout, subcontractor procurement, contract negotiation, and scope coordination
- Oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Partner closely with the Superintendent to drive field execution and schedule adherence
- Track and forecast project financials, including cost reporting, billings, and projections
- Coordinate pre-construction handoff and support estimating during pursuits when needed
- Lead project meetings with owners, design teams, and internal staff
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers
Qualifications
- Approximately 7 years of commercial construction project management experience
- General contractor experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated history of successfully running ground-up commercial projects from start to finish
- Experience across one or more of the following sectors preferred: healthcare, education, public safety, mixed-use, adaptive reuse, or community/municipal work
- Strong command of project financials, scheduling, and contract administration
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused, relationship-driven approach
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Work Environment
This is an onsite position requiring daily presence at the assigned project site or the Raleigh office within commuting distance of the Triangle market. The role involves regular walking of active construction sites, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in varying outdoor conditions as project demands require.
