What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at WELLSTONE?
Job Description: The Maintenance Worker in our Cullman office is responsible for day-to-day care of our facilities buildings and grounds. This will include use of cleaning tools such as vacuums and regular cleaning/maintenance tasks: i.e., dusting, vacuuming, taking out the trash. This position will work Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for coordination of custodial services for Wellstone's Cullman location and satellite locations.
- Responsible for the supervision of all minor repairs and maintenance to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting within the Wellstone Cullman location and satellite locations.
- Responsible for ensuring furniture is set up when received.
- Responsible for the supervision of maintenance/housekeeping staff, ensuring adequate coverage, signing time sheets leave forms and performance appraisals as necessary /or required.
- Responsible for ensuring the grounds and exterior of the facilities are acceptable, coordinating with vendors to ensure cleanliness and acceptability.
- Ensure custodial staff maintains interior housekeeping duties for the main location and satellite locations to include emptying trash, vacuuming floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms facilities, washing windows, etc.
- Serve as primary contact when alarms are set off and collaborate with local agencies in the event the alarm must be reset or turned off.
- Assist entities that may lease areas from Wellstone in their general maintenance needs
- Assist COO in obtaining contracts bids for negotiating for service in regard to general maintenance, contracting needs, grounds keeping, etc.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:What we’re looking for:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 to 5 years supervisory experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year /housekeeping non-residential experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors
- Experience in minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting: certification preferred
- Requires little direction and is a self- starter
