What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Based Therapist position at WELLSTONE?
Job Description: The School Based Therapist works with the Huntsville City and Madison County schools to ensure mental health care services and resources are available without barriers.
What you'll be doing:
- Perform mental health counseling services in an In-School Counseling Program within the school systems.
- Perform crisis intervention and resolution as necessary.
- Perform assessments, intakes, transfers and discharges on clients.
- Manage client caseload to include follow up with clients & guardians.
- Assist school personnel and parents with community referral sources.
- Monitor clients' progress toward goals.
- Obtain release forms from parents, adhere to confidentiality standards.
- Document information per standards in electronic client chart, i.e. Treatment Plan, Progress Notes, referrals, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain billable service and productivity standards.
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:What we're looking for:
- Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field with an internship/practicum
- Experience with children/adolescents preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient documentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills to include suspense/timeframe management
