Acute Occupational Therapist

Shift Information

Variable - 7 days per week departmental coverage - 5 day work week. Day shift.

We are seeking a dedicated Acute Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitation services in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and/or Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). The successful candidate will be responsible for performing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

• Provide rehabilitation services in a SNF and/or ICF setting.


• Perform evaluations, reassessments, treatments, and other clinical services consistent with licensure and scope of practice.


• Collaborate with the supervising therapist, physician, and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.


• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to maximize function, independence, communication, mobility, swallowing, and quality of life.


• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans and patient progress.


• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation according to facility and regulatory requirements.


• Supervise therapy assistants, as applicable.


• Be available to work on Hawaii State and Federal Holidays as necessary based on facility operations.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a SNF/ICF setting preferred.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• Current State of Hawaii license in good standing appropriate to the discipline.

Generally scheduled for five (5) days per week, which may include one weekend day. Possible floating to other units or facilities based on census and staffing needs.

Orientation to the rehabilitation department, EMR documentation, and facility workflows will be provided.
