Acute Care Physical Therapist

Position Overview

The Acute Care Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation of client function, as well as the planning, directing, and administering of physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a referring provider or through direct access. The ultimate goal is to restore function following injury, disease, or physical disability.

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their functional capabilities.


• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to facilitate recovery and improve physical function.


• Administer physical therapy treatments in accordance with established protocols and standards.


• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.


• Educate patients and their families on physical therapy techniques and exercises to promote independence.


• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.


• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.


• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.


• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

This position requires holiday coverage and adherence to scheduled shifts, specifically from Wednesday through Saturday during the day. The Acute Care Physical Therapist plays a critical role in assisting patients to achieve their maximum level of independence while learning to function within the limits of their abilities.
