Wellspring is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families, and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Parent Education Provider to join our Foster Care Supportive Visitation (FCSV) Program, supporting families throughout Saginaw, Shiawassee, and Gratiot counties.
In this role, you will provide home-based, family-centered services designed to strengthen families, support reunification, and ensure children’s safety and well-being. You will use a strength-based, non-deficit approach grounded in the Nurturing Parenting philosophy to empower parents, build skills, and connect families with needed resources.

Responsibilities
As a Parent Education Provider with Wellspring–Foster Care Supportive Visitation, you will:
- Adhere to the Foster Care Supportive Visitation model of service (strength-based, non-deficit approach).
- Provide families with concrete services, including assistance with housing, transportation, home cleaning, maintenance, and repair.
- Deliver skills training such as parenting education, self-advocacy, communication, and self-sufficiency.
- Offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention to families.
- Make collateral contacts to coordinate outpatient counseling or medical care, address educational needs, arrange utility assistance, resolve housing issues, and connect families with community resources.
- Prepare timely and accurate documentation, including service plans, progress reports, weekly plans, goal sheets, termination summaries, time reports, and correspondence.
- Present each case during termination conferences and recommend follow-up services.
- Maintain contract-required face-to-face contact with families based on program expectations and family needs.
- Maintain weekly contact—or more as needed—with referring workers.
- Complete follow-up evaluations at 3, 6, and 12 months post-service.
- Transport clients in your own vehicle as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related human services field required.
- One year of experience in human services preferred.
- Completion of required Nurturing Parenting training prior to serving families (provided by Wellspring).
- Reliable, responsible, compassionate, and committed to high-quality service.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Current and valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance required.
- Hybrid-Remote position – home-based with travel throughout Saginaw, Shiawassee, and Gratiot counties.
- Flexible work schedule based on family needs.
- Team meetings and trainings held 1–2 times per week.
- Salary: $41,000/year (based on experience).
