Summary:
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering and contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables. Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering. Required Qualifications: Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Power BI development and a strong background in enterprise software/toolchain management. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert responsible for architecting, building, and delivering management reports that provide actionable insights on toolchain adoption, maturity, and organizational impact. You will play a pivotal role in helping leadership and stakeholders assess and advance the adoption of enterprise development, DevOps, and CI/CD tooling across the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver analytics on enterprise toolchain adoption, usage patterns, process maturity, and impact on business objectives.
• Collaborate directly with engineering, operations, and transformation teams to gather requirements, define key metrics, and ensure data accuracy and relevancy for management reporting.
• Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert in toolchain reporting, with strong knowledge of common tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD platforms, testing & security tools) and connected data sources.
• Develop frameworks, data models, and reporting methodologies to assess adoption and maturity levels (e.g., tool usage, onboarding KPIs, process adherence, automation coverage, impact on delivery velocity/quality/security).
• Integrate data from multiple sources—including APIs, data lakes, internal databases, and vendor platforms—into the Power BI ecosystem using advanced data transformations and DAX.
• Ensure reports provide meaningful executive and operational views, with robust drill-down capabilities for action planning and decision support.
• Partner closely with business and IT leadership to present findings, recommend action items, and evolve analytics to align with strategic objectives.
• Act as the primary escalation point for all technical issues related to toolchain adoption reporting and drive continuous improvement of reporting processes and solutions.
• Define, document, and enforce best practices for management reporting, including data governance, integrity, security, and lifecycle management.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and analysts in best practices for both Power BI and toolchain reporting.

Software engineering, BI/reporting, or analytics experience, with advanced Power BI development in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in crafting BI solutions reporting on enterprise software development ecosystems, toolchain adoption, and DevOps maturity.
• Proven experience with connecting Power BI to a variety of toolchain platforms (such as Jira, GitHub, Azure DevOps, other CI/CD tools), and designing KPIs for adoption, onboarding, and usage.
• Advanced skills in DAX, Power Query/M, and complex data modeling for management-level reporting.
• Demonstrated success in building executive dashboards highlighting adoption, risk, compliance, automation, productivity, cost savings, or similar impact areas.
• Strong data integration skills: ETL, API data extraction, direct query, and on-prem/cloud data source integration.
• Deep understanding of enterprise data governance, security, access controls, and reporting best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and seasoned experience working with technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated leadership in project delivery, solution architecture, and mentoring junior team members.Preferred Qualifications:
• Subject matter expertise in enterprise DevOps, SDLC/ALM toolchains, engineering productivity tooling, or related reporting domains.
• Experience directly supporting executive or board-level reporting initiatives.
• Microsoft Power BI and/or Power Platform certification.
• Experience in highly regulated or financial services environments.
