Summary:
In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements within Business Execution. Review and analyze basic or tactical Business Execution assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, related to low-to-medium risk deliverables. Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Provide information to client personnel in Business Execution. Required Qualifications: 2 years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
The MICR Tester is responsible for executing validation testing on check documents and related items to ensure compliance with MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) industry standards. This role focuses on identifying defects in formatting, print quality, and magnetic characteristics that could impact item processing, and providing accurate test results to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute MICR Testing
• Receive and process check samples through MICR validation systems
• Perform testing using industry-standard tools to evaluate readability and compliance
• Analyze results to determine pass/fail status based on established standards
2. Validate Document Compliance
• Verify MICR line accuracy, including:
o Character spacing and alignment
o Routing and account field positioning
• Evaluate print quality attributes such as:
o Character dimensions and readability
o Magnetic ink strength and signal quality
3. Document and Report Results
• Prepare detailed test result summaries and findings
• Identify and classify failure reasons (formatting, optical, magnetic, etc.)
• Provide results to internal teams for review and follow-up
4. Support Reporting and Operational Processes
• Assist with recurring reporting
• Maintain testing records and organized documentation
• Follow naming conventions and file management standards
5. Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders
• Partner with internal teams (e.g., Relationship Managers, Operations) to share test outcomes
• Support internal discussions regarding testing results and trends
• Participate in team meetings and knowledge transfer sessions
Required Qualifications:

• 2 yrs experience in testing, quality assurance, or operations (banking or document processing preferred)
2 yrs banking/financial background/experience
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to interpret technical standards and testing criteria
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and basic reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of MICR standards and check processing
• Experience with check imaging, scanning, or payment processing systems
• Exposure to operational reporting or data analysis
