Summary:
We are seeking an experienced KYC Account Opening Specialist to support Merchant Services onboarding activities. This role is focused on conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews, performing quality control checks on contract packages, and ensuring compliance with AML, BSA, CIP, and CDD requirements before new merchant accounts are onboarded.
Key Focus: Business preference is for candidates with strong account opening and onboarding experience over transaction monitoring experience.
Responsibilities:
Complete KYC reviews and quality control assessments for new Merchant Services account onboarding.
Perform Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) activities in alignment with AML policies and procedures.
Review onboarding documentation and contract packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Reject and return incomplete or inaccurate requests to sales teams for correction prior to onboarding.
Support complex operational, business, and customer support initiatives within the Operations team.
Investigate and resolve escalated issues using technical and regulatory expertise.
Identify process improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
Serve as a subject matter expert on KYC, AML, CIP, and CDD procedures.
Provide guidance to team members and assist with policy and procedure interpretation.
Collaborate with peers, managers, and business partners to resolve issues and achieve operational objectives.
Maintain adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) while managing a high-volume workload.
Exercise independent judgment while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with KYC, AML, BSA, CIP, and CDD compliance processes.
Strong experience supporting account opening, onboarding, or customer due diligence reviews.
Proven experience in quality monitoring and/or quality assurance activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workloads while meeting established SLAs.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
2 years of banking experience.
Underwriting experience. (preferred)
Experience supporting Merchant Services or financial services operations. (preferred)
Familiarity with account onboarding platforms and workflow management systems. (preferred)
