We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role involves managing financial records, supporting administrative functions, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping in compliance with GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and possess strong analytical skills to maintain precise financial data and assist with administrative tasks to support overall business operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
- Assist with payroll processing and tax preparation activities
- Maintain and update financial reports, including budgeting and financial report writing
- Support governmental and non-profit accounting functions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Handle administrative duties such as data entry (including 10 key typing), filing, and document management
- Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and reports
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Familiarity with corporate, non-profit, governmental accounting, and public accounting practices
- Ability to perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
- Experience with bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax-related activities
- Knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, and financial report writing
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently
