What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Human Resources Generalist position at Wellness Care?
About Wellness Care
Wellness Care is a fast-growing health and wellness company headquartered in Richardson, Texas. We are passionate about empowering people to live healthier, fuller lives. That mission starts with our own team. We believe a thriving workplace is built on great people, strong culture, and leadership that genuinely cares. As we continue to scale, we are looking for an HR professional who shares that belief and is ready to help us grow the right way.
The Role
The Senior HR Generalist is a pivotal, hands-on role that will serve as the primary HR resource for Wellness Care. This person will own the full employee lifecycle: from the moment a requisition opens to the day someone walks in for their first day, and everything that happens in between. You will be equally comfortable sourcing candidates and navigating a sensitive employee relations conversation. This is not a siloed recruiting role or a pure compliance role. This is HR generalist work at its best, and it requires someone who thrives wearing many hats without dropping any of them.
What You’ll Do
Talent Acquisition & Full-Cycle Recruiting
- Manage the full recruiting lifecycle for all open positions — from job posting and sourcing through offer negotiation and close.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop accurate job descriptions, define ideal candidate profiles, and build structured interview processes.
- Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, employee referrals, and community partnerships.
- Screen resumes, conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, and deliver timely feedback to candidates and hiring managers.
- Maintain an organized applicant tracking system and ensure a positive candidate experience at every touchpoint.
- Report on recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source of hire, and offer acceptance rates.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, leave, and general HR matters.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC requirements.
- Administer and support open enrollment and day-to-day benefits administration.
- Partner with leadership on compensation analysis, pay band reviews, and job leveling.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies as the business evolves.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Handle employee relations matters with discretion, fairness, and a solutions-focused mindset.
- Conduct investigations, facilitate performance improvement conversations, and support managers through difficult people decisions.
- Advise leadership on HR best practices and help build a culture of accountability, inclusion, and transparency.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and programs that reinforce Wellness Care’s mission and values.
- Identify trends in employee feedback and proactively surface recommendations to leadership.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with demonstrated ownership of both full-cycle recruiting and HR operations.
- Alternatively, senior paralegals with office management and employment law experience are strongly considered.
- Proven track record of managing the full recruiting lifecycle independently — not just coordinating, but owning and driving the process.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance at the federal level and across Texas.
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses where resourcefulness and adaptability are non-negotiable.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust quickly across all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building processes where few exist.
- Experience with HRIS/ATS platforms; Gusto experience is a plus.
Who You Are
You are a self-starter who does not wait to be told what to do next. You have high standards for your work and even higher standards for the candidate and employee experience you create. You are the person who notices what’s broken before anyone else does — and you fix it. You bring energy to the work, a sense of humor when things get hard, and genuine care for the people around you. You love recruiting AND you love HR, and you’re not looking to grow out of either one.
