We are seeking an experienced surgical coordinator well versed at scheduling and patient care to coordinate surgical and pain procedures under the guidance of the Lead Surgical Coordinator at events with the Event team for Wellness and Pain. Experience with veins and pain management a plus!
General Responsibilities
· Review Coordinating Shared Calendar (CSC) first thing every morning to prioritize tasks for the day
· Regroup with Surgical Coordinator to set a plan for the day
· Use Event Tracker spreadsheet to sort out RFA's to book along with the detailed descriptions re: the best time range to reach patients
· Schedule the procedures, enter the appointments in EMR
· Follow up with Office Manager to submit for Insurance Verification
· Obtain front & back copy of insurance card and Driver's license/ID.
· Review the Vein & Pain Smart sheets throughout the day in search for procedure approval authorizations.
· Prioritize in collaboration with Surgical Coordinator which booking packets can be put together and email to one of the surgical centers.
· Email the Billing Department for any specific/special authorization requests or procedure changes including dates.
· Regroup with Surgical Coordinator at the very end of the day to discuss any updates so we can plan for the following day/days ahead.
· Serve as coverage for Surgical Coordinator during sick or vacation days.
· Communicate patient schedule for Wellness and Pain doctors to surgical centers
· Communicate total patients coming to surgical center to anesthesiologist
· Schedule pain procedure patients with Lead Medical Assistant
