About the Role:We are urgently hiring a Manual Lathe Operator to join our 1st shift production team. This is a critical position and we are looking for someone who can operate manual lathes and mills independently, read blueprints, and produce high-quality precision parts.If you have strong hands-on machining experience and want a long-term, stable opportunity — we want to meet you.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual vertical & horizontal turret lathes Support complementary equipment such as keyseaters, mills, presses, and sawsAssist with CNC lathe, mill, and plasma cutting operationsUse digital and dial readoutsRead and interpret blueprints and production ordersMeasure, mark, cut, and finish parts to specVerify tight tolerances using micrometers, calipers, gaugesPerform deburring, cleanup, and final inspectionsTroubleshoot basic issues with manual machinesKeep work area clean, organized, and safeAssist production team as needed to meet deadlinesQualifications3 years of manual machining experienceStrong experience machining steels: A36, 1018, 1045, 4140, 304, 316Ability to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to hold tight tolerancesComfortable using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gaugesAbility to work independently and meet production standardsForklift experience preferredWork EnvironmentManufacturing environment with exposure to noise and heavy machineryStanding, lifting, and repetitive movement requiredTeam-oriented, safety-focused environmentCompany DescriptionWeller Metalworks is a private equity–backed manufacturing company with operations in the United States and Canada.
