We provide a full continuum of services including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.
Position Summary
The Village at Brookwood is seeking a Security Officer to work every weekend from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Essential Responsibilities
- Patrol the campus on foot and by vehicle
- Vary patrol patterns to help deter potential criminal activity
- Monitor and secure apartments, garden homes, healthcare areas, administrative offices, dining venues, wellness spaces, and other common areas
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and assist healthcare staff as needed
- Assist residents and visitors with needs such as carrying packages, wheelchair or scooter assistance, and escorts
- Maintain accurate daily activity reports and vehicle logs
- Report safety concerns and submit maintenance requests as needed
- Assist with deliveries, distribution of information, and minor maintenance-related tasks
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations including illness, fire, or natural disasters
- Provide transportation assistance to residents as needed
- Remain on duty until relieved by the next shift
- Maintain professional appearance, behavior, and service standards at all times
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to work every weekend and additional flexible hours if needed
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a variety of situations
Preferred
- At least 6 months of experience in security, law enforcement, military, firefighting, EMS, or a related field
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
