About Our Field Service Engineer
Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated engineer with a strong desire to learn and apply technical knowledge to real-world equipment. If you are mechanically and electronically inclined and enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving in the field, this is the role for you.
This is an active, field-based position—you may be on your feet for 90% to 95% of the workday and will be expected to safely lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. A strong commitment to safety in oil and natural gas and refinery environments is essential.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret machine drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Install, commission, and service mechanical equipment at customer sites; successfully complete any certification and testing requirements as needed
- Travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 50% of the time; perform diagnostics, repairs, and testing on in house mechanical equipment when not in the field
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve recurring issues and recommend design and process improvements from field experience

- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and service teams to troubleshoot issues, share insights, and drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and reliability
- Ownership & Work Ethic: Demonstrate a strong sense of accountability, urgency, and prioritization—balancing field service demands, project timelines, and customer needs in a fast-paced environment
- Technical & Analytical Aptitude: Apply engineering principles in real-world scenarios, with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex equipment and system issues involving both mechanical and electro-mechanical components

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Must have strong technical aptitude, good problem-solving abilities, and the skills to learn and understand product mechanics, electrical wiring, and electronics
- Ability to read and understand machine drawings, schematics, and manufacturing instructions
- This position requires some travel and compliance with customer site requirements including a clean driving record, routine drug testing and physicals, and occasional wearing of breathing equipment and other protective equipment that may require minimal facial hair or other accommodations
- 1-3 years of hands on or field experience is preferred but not required
