    Job Title:
    Paraprofessional – Blending Learning Monitor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
    Reports To: High School Principal & Assistant Principal Days per Year: 180
    Job Location: Highland High School Hours per Week: 37.5
    Revision Date: March 31, 2026 Pay Range: Classified Salary Schedule - Teacher Aide/Health Tech

    Summary:
    Paraprofessionals are responsible for working in a team environment in the High School assisting the instructors in providing educational experiences and support to students.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Provide instructional assistance to students
    • Supervise a classroom consisting of students in credit recovery and online/distant learning programs
    • Enforce basic building policies in the classroom
    • Participate as a classified staff member within the building
    • Learn and be able to troubleshoot and/or provide basic directions to students for a variety of online/distance learning programs and websites
    • Responsible for providing a safe educational environment
    • Participant in implementing students' Individual Education Plans and behavior plans
    • Any and all other duties as assigned

    Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Experience working with high age students preferred, but not required
    • Experience working with a variety of student populations preferred, but not required
    • Applicant must demonstrate a great deal of patience and empathy
    • Criminal background check
    Salary and Benefits:
    Starting salary range is $16.25-$17.75 per hour as of the time of this posting depending on years of relevant experience. Salary schedules are updated in late spring each year. The district provides health insurance benefits including dental and vision, PERA retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability, an optional supplemental 401(k) plan, an employee assistance plan, and the ability to enroll in supplemental insurances and savings accounts through a third-party vendor. The Weld RE-9 School District offers a tuition reimbursement program for individuals wanting to continue their education, reimbursement for obtaining a substitute license, and pathways to teacher licensure for interested staff. Weld RE-9 offers sick leave and personal leave as well as other benefits specific to our school district.
