Welcome Group, Inc. is seeking a Head of Operations to lead our hospitality platform through a phase of significant scale and institutional growth. Welcome Group currently owns and operates a diverse portfolio of 13 hotel properties, ranging from select-service to luxury assets across all major brands.
This leader will be responsible for the day-to-day operational excellence of the current portfolio while building a sustainable, scalable structure to support our aggressive expansion into third-party management for institutional owners. You will work closely with Eight Form, our asset management and development arm, to drive profitability and ensure our operating model is a key selling point for new institutional partners.
This position is office-based with a strong preference for candidates in Los Angeles, CA or Dallas, TX.
Regular travel to our corporate headquarters and hotel properties is required to ensure strategic alignment and property-level support.
Key Responsibilities
Tactical Operational Guidance
- Provide decisive, hands-on leadership to General Managers, ensuring property-level execution aligns with ownership's financial goals and brand standards.
- Standardize operational SOPs across a diverse portfolio (select-service to luxury) to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Conduct regular site visits to review property performance, physical asset health, and guest service delivery.
Growth & Business Development
- Partner with Zach Demuth, Head of Strategic Growth & Asset Management, to pitch Welcome Group’s management capabilities to institutional groups
- Support due diligence and underwriting for new third-party management opportunities to substantially grow AUM over the next five years
- Create a scalable organizational structure that can seamlessly integrate new acquisitions and third-party contracts.
People & Culture Leadership
- Foster a culture of accountability, motivation, and high performance through regular recognition and constructive employee feedback.
- Directly mentor GMs and property-level leaders, focusing on professional development and career growth.
- Establish clear operational KPIs, including GOPPAR, guest satisfaction scores, and employee retention metrics.
Data & Technology Integration
- Champion the adoption of AI, predictive analytics, and BI tools to optimize labor management, procurement, and property-level forecasting.
- Provide regular operational reporting and transparency to ownership, lenders, and executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years in hospitality operations leadership, with at least 5 years in a senior multi-property role.
- Portfolio Versatility: Proven track record managing a mix of branded and independent hotels, ranging from select-service to luxury assets.
- Strategic Acumen: Ability to balance tactical "boots on the ground" problem-solving with high-level strategic planning for institutional growth.
- Leadership Style: Decisive, motivational leader who excels at building trust with property-level teams while maintaining a high bar for excellence.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $300,000 – $350,000, plus performance-based bonus tied to operational and commercial KPIs.
- Full-time, senior leadership position reporting directly to the CEO.
