Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager/Journeyman Electrician to oversee and execute electrical projects across various construction and renovation sites. This role requires a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems, with the ability to manage projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical experience, including blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and working with both low and high voltage systems. This position offers an opportunity to lead complex projects while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with NEC standards.
Duties
- Manage electrical projects on construction sites, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure timely completion.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems utilizing hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical systems and renovations.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, and high voltage systems in accordance with NEC regulations.
- Conduct inspections of electrical installations for safety and compliance; perform necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Supervise and collaborate with teams of electricians, contractors, and other trades to ensure project specifications are met.
- Document project progress, maintain detailed records of work performed, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in troubleshooting complex electrical issues on-site using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license with proven experience in industrial and commercial settings.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC standards, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and electrical codes.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, high voltage systems, and renovation projects.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Construction site experience with a strong understanding of framing carpentry and maintenance person skills is preferred.
- Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
