Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems, with proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, and various electrical tools. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across construction sites, renovation projects, and industrial facilities. Candidates must demonstrate a thorough understanding of NEC standards, high and low voltage systems, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial and industrial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical projects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to diagnose electrical issues.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems as required for automation projects.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and safety regulations.
- Assist with renovation and construction projects by framing carpentry or maintenance person tasks when needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols on construction sites or industrial facilities.
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a valid journeyman/journeywoman license.
- Strong knowledge of NEC codes, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience working with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as testing equipment like ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Construction site experience with the ability to perform renovation tasks or framing carpentry when necessary.
- Maintenance Person experience is a plus for versatile project support.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical instructions effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with attention to detail for troubleshooting electrical issues efficiently.
