Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Work with low voltage systems, high voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and schematics to ensure proper operation of complex electrical controls.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, transformers, conduits, and wiring assemblies.
- Adhere strictly to the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards while ensuring safety protocols are followed on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, handymen, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and deliverables effectively.
- Use testing instruments such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in the installation of low voltage wiring for security systems, fire alarms, or communication networks as needed.
Requirements
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical knowledge and experience.
- Proven industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of industrial control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Commercial electrician experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with familiarity in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, power drills, wire strippers, multimeters (including ohmmeters), and other essential electrical testing devices.
- Knowledge of NEC standards for safe electrical installation practices across high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings such as schematics and blueprints accurately.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects with a focus on safety compliance.
- Skilled in framing carpentry tasks or handyman work that support electrical installations or site preparations is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools.
