Job Summary: The Financial Controller will oversee all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management for a $100 million budget. This role will involve strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support the organization's growth and sustainability initiatives. Reports to the VP of Finance and/or CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the annual budget process, including revenue projections and expense management.
- Conduct regular financial forecasting to assess the organization’s financial health and identify potential risks.
3. Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
4. Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the organization can meet its financial obligations.
- Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and manage working capital effectively.
5. Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and support to staff on financial processes and best practices.
7. Stakeholder Communication:
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with operational objectives.
- Communicate financial performance and insights to stakeholders, including the board of directors and external partners.
8. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel;
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
