Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Summary: The Financial Controller will oversee all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management for a $100 million budget. This role will involve strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support the organization's growth and sustainability initiatives. Reports to the VP of Finance and/or CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget process, including revenue projections and expense management.
  • Conduct regular financial forecasting to assess the organization’s financial health and identify potential risks.

3. Financial Analysis:

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.

4. Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure the organization can meet its financial obligations.
  • Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and manage working capital effectively.

5. Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.

6. Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial processes and best practices.

7. Stakeholder Communication:

  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with operational objectives.
  • Communicate financial performance and insights to stakeholders, including the board of directors and external partners.

8. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to the mission of the organization.
