This role serves as a key safety resource to the project management team, working collaboratively to develop and implement site-specific safety programs. The Field Safety Coordinator will play an active role in pre-project planning, pre-phase planning, and task-specific safety planning to ensure the highest standards of safety are upheld on every job site. This role is based out of our corporate office in Minneapolis, supporting projects across various regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Safety Director to administer and support the Company Safety and Health Program.
- Equip, train, and motivate field staff to effectively implement safety protocols on the jobsite.
- Conduct regular safety audits and work with site leadership to resolve identified hazards.
- Coordinate and close out OSHA Consultation visits.
- Review and monitor subcontractor safety programs and activities, ensuring compliance and addressing concerns.
- Investigate incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide safety training for field and office personnel as needed.
- Maintain accurate safety records and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external safety communications, including clients, subcontractors, and union representatives.
- Distribute updates and guidance related to evolving safety regulations and best practices.

Education & Training
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Construction, or a related field
- OSHA-authorized training preferred
- Knowledge & Experience
- 5 years of experience in safety, loss control, or commercial/residential construction
Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Skilled at conflict resolution and finding common ground
- Effective presenter in both group and one-on-one settings
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Strong negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
Working Conditions
- Approximately 80% field work and 20% office-based
- Frequent out-of-state travel to job sites, including overnight stays, with up to 75% travel depending on project location.
- Office work includes use of standard office equipment (computer, iPad, copier, etc.)
- Field work includes exposure to outdoor weather, heights, and construction environments requiring OSHA-compliant PPE
- May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, humidity, and moving mechanical parts
