Responsibilities
- Manage the complete accounting cycle, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Conduct bank reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain the general ledger with precise entries using Sage 100 Contractor accounting software.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
- Handle payroll processing accurately and in compliance with applicable laws.
- Assist with budgeting activities and provide detailed financial report writing for management review.
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
- Support tax preparation activities by organizing financial data and maintaining proper documentation.
- Conduct internal audits of financial data to uphold integrity and accuracy of records.
- Utilize technical accounting skills for complex account analysis and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
- Maintain meticulous records of journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit trails for transparency.
- Collaborate with tax accountant during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role within a corporate or setting.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software for construction; Sage 100 Contractor is a plus.
- Deep understanding of GAAP standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with analytical thinking for accurate financial reporting.
