Role Description:
Wehrung’s Family of Businesses is seeking a Contractor Counter Sales Associate for weekends. As a member of our counter sales team, the individual in this role will assist our contractor and retail customers with lumber & building material stock, special-order purchases as well as hardware, plumbing and electrical sales. Applicants should have basic knowledge and understanding of building materials, hardware and plumbing/electrical supplies.
General Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist DIY and Professional builder customers with questions about our products and guide them towards using the right products
- Sales of building materials
- Provide information on product features, pricing, and after-sales services
- Answer customer queries regarding lumber products or services
- Process transactions, handle cash, and maintain accurate records
- Handle customer complaints professionally and refer complex issues to the LBM Sales Manager
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the counter and store
- Promote and upsell products, special offers, or loyalty programs
- Order entry into appropriate inventory tracking system
- Other duties as assigned by management

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of lumber, doors, windows, and other building materials
- Eligible to work in the U.S
- Reliable transportation to get you back and forth to work
- Flexibility to work weekends
- Mature and self-motivated
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Bending or stooping
- Regularly lifting to 50 pounds
Education and Experience:
- Construction experience or experience selling building materials, preferred
- Hardware, plumbing and/or electrical knowledge, a plus
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
