Job Title: Offshore Energy & Maritime Litigation Associate (Partnership Track)
Location: New Orleans, LA
Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate (Partnership Track) to join its Offshore Energy & Maritime Litigation practice in New Orleans. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven attorney to gain hands-on experience in complex maritime and energy-related matters while working closely with clients and firm leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Lead client communications and provide strategic, timely updates
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery; respond to written discovery
- Work on a broad range of civil litigation matters, including maritime disputes, personal injury, property damage, and environmental issues
- Advise clients on offshore energy and maritime matters, including operations, shipping regulations, marine insurance, and environmental compliance
- Collaborate with partners on litigation strategy and case development
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of litigation experience
- Prior offshore maritime or energy litigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently
- Strong client-facing skills with an interest in business development
- Licensed and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar
