The Supervisor, Gearing Inside Sales and Application Engineering performs supervisory duties for the gearing inside sales support and application engineering team
Primary Responsibilities
- Has direct responsibility for all assigned team members: from performance, human resource, training and coaching perspectives.
- Provides team feedback and solutions to management for consideration.
- Instills a focus on customer service to all team members.
- Effectively evaluates and adjusts team workload as necessary.
- Reviews current processes and finds solutions to improve and streamline (eliminate non value activities).
- Increases effectiveness by providing tools, training, and standardized processes that support daily operations.
- Implements training programs and procedure changes, as necessary, to support improved team performance.
- Interacts with all other department Supervisors/Managers to improve relationships and communication between departments for both internal and external teams.
- Participates in special projects, focused on department-level improvements.
- Engages in direct sales and application activities, including receiving customer calls, preparing quotations, product selection and application review, informing customers about pricing, ship dates, and other information pertinent to an order or quotation.
- Regularly mentors junior team members and trains new hires as well as promotes mentoring skills in junior supervisor(s), if applicable.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance. Responsible for addressing employee complaints and resolveing problems.
- Bachelor’s degree, Engineering
- Strong knowledge of sales and customer service concepts.
- People Management.
- Phone etiquette for customer interaction.
- Technical aptitude (electrical and mechanical).
- Understanding of industrial applications, as appropriate for specific product groups.
- Some finance experience is highly beneficial.
- Microsoft Office
- Breadth and depth of knowledge of customer needs, industry trends, and market forces
- 5 years’ experience.
