Daily Schedule: 2 PM-12 AM; Monday -Thursday; weekends and overtime, as needed
Position Status: Non-Exempt; hourly, paid bi-weekly

Job Description: WEG Coatings is seeking a confident, reliable, and hard-working leader to supervise department employees and ensure the safe, high-quality, and timely completion of coating application processes. This hands-on role directs the work of 3–10 production employees and involves supervising the coating of coils using baked phenolic coatings applied through dipping, spraying, and flow-coating methods. Oversee and coordinate workflow through oven cycles, optimizing utilization during pre-bake, intermediate bake, and final bake stages. Strong communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with company managers and second shift plant staff to achieve production goals. This role requires a strong focus on safety and quality, along with the ability to coach and train team members to meet production deadlines.
- Review daily department priorities; Assign tasks to staff; Monitor progress; Resolve problems; Report results to Plant Manager.
- Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results;
- Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing quality systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain staff by coaching, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Initiate cooperation within and between departments and shifts.
- Coordinating and implementing continuous improvement throughout the facility.
- Ensure operation of equipment by adhering to preventive maintenance schedule; inspecting cranes, lift trucks, and slings daily, prior to use.
- Provide manufacturing information by observing and analyzing production needs specific to unusual jobs.
- Fill in as needed on the production floor to support workflow and maintain productivity
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and process records to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Work cooperatively with Sales Managers and Plant Manager to meet specific customer needs.
- Model the use of correct PPE and hold employees accountable for safe and regular use of safety equipment.
- Make suggestions for improved manufacturing procedures by analyzing operating practices and record-keeping systems.
- Ability to implement change.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all procedures, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

- High School Diploma or GED with substantial related proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Supervisory experience required, preferably in Chemical, Coatings, or heavy industrial setting.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Supervisory Management Desired
- Ability to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of WEG Coatings products and application process
- Ability to use email and Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of managing safety and/or quality programs & processes
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requests while maintaining a culture of accountability and execution
- Must be able to wear a respirator.
- Valid Driver’s License Required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and respirator function test
