What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Receptionist position at Weems & Stephens?
Founded in 1988, Weems and Stephens Equine Hospital is a full-service equine hospital established as a 24-hour a day referral center for horses requiring specialized medical and surgical care. We offer a full range of services including surgery, internal medicine, reproduction, sports medicine, advanced diagnostic imaging, and podiatry. We strive to provide premier quality care to our patients and have committed our professional attention to raising the standard of equine care.
We are growing and are looking for a talented receptionist & office assistant to join our team. This position will primarily be responsible for the following duties:
- Acting as the primary “face” of the company by greeting and checking clients in and out for their appointments
- Answering phones to field client inquiries, schedule appointments and handle point of sale duties as needed
- Filing of personal and medical records
- Learning the Global Vet Link system for submitting digital coggins
- Assisting the office and technical staff with daily cleaning (i.e. mopping, emptying trash, etc.)
- Stocking of supplies as they are received each day
- Scanning in and submitting prescription requests, insurance forms, etc.

This is an hourly, full-time position with total compensation in the range of $31,000-42,000 per year depending on experience. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M.and Saturday from 8:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Applicants will need to work Saturdays but will be able to take off one day Monday-Friday.
Benefits include $200/month contributed toward health insurance after 90 days of employment, two weeks of paid vacation after one year of employment and company match of up to 3% on a SIMPLE retirement plan, and eligible for the Hospital’s profit-sharing program.
