Position Overview

We are expanding throughout our NE Region. Our team is looking for an experienced construction superintendent to supervise craft employees ensure projects are safely completed on time. As a Yard Superintendent, you will play a key role in the success of Weeks Marine. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with various people, such as craft workers, job teams, and engineers. we depend on our passionate, skilled, and safety-obsessed construction professionals to get it done. Location

This position will be based out of our District Home Office in Cranford, NJ. Weeks Marine Construction's projects span across the NE region of the US.

As a Yard Superintendent, residing in or relocating to NJ, NY, or CT is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain healthy safety culture and compliance with company safety policy
  • Be responsible for ensuring the project meets or exceeds its financial objectives, by overseeing and monitoring each stage of the development
  • Coordinates daily/weekly meetings with all the area superintendents and project engineers to develop means and methods, schedule contracting needs and long lead delivery times
  • Manage all field operations and work sequences in conjunction with the Project Executive
  • Review project estimate or plan to determine estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
  • Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections. Also, review, approve, and negotiate change orders
  • Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delays of production.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of the project, works closely with Project Executive and HR team to manage the relationship with staff and craft
  • Form and lead an effective project management team, define and delegate management responsibilities, and set goals
  • Review and control of work planning process by project team
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
  • Be an effective leader, communicate with department leads regarding work scopes
  • Ensure project superintendents understand and execute the work as required
  • Ensure safety, quality, and production are maintained


Responsible for project closeout. Secure loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retainages, supporting supervisors, and expediting claims

Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • General computer skills required, Microsoft Office proficiency (Word and Exel).
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with cranes is preferred.
  • Must have ability to manage and inspire others.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary


Base Compensation: $138,000/yr - $144,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
