Job Summary
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities) • Serve as a case manager for all students with IEPs for Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI). • Schedule and facilitate IEP and/or collaboration meetings including all appropriate team members • Provide a safe and positive atmosphere for learning. • Provide instruction which will motivate and encourage student learning. • Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the IEP of each assigned student. • Work in team teaching model within the school/program. • Participate in intervention meetings as requested to provide expertise with interventions. • Monitor student’s progress towards IEP goals as appropriate. • Collaborate with General Education Teachers to ensure that the students make progress in the assigned curriculum. • Provide support for accommodations and/or modifications as agreed upon in the IEP. • Provide information, assistance, consultation, strategies, and/or materials specific to each individual student as appropriate. • Utilize the Special Education student information system to prepare and monitor the IEP. • Attending site and department meetings as scheduled. • Attending professional development training courses recommended by the Superintendent or Principal. • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director or Principal or designee. Education, Experience & Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree with a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service in learning handicapped; preferred master's degree and/or post graduate course work • Teaching experience at various grade levels with learning disabled students • Must complete all required mandatory trainings for school employees
