Lead Pre‑K 4 Teacher — Wee Warriors Academy
Wee Warriors Academy is seeking a Lead Pre‑K 4 Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education, skilled in planning developmentally appropriate lessons, and excited to help children grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, creative, and confident leading a full‑day Pre‑K classroom.
Position: Lead Pre‑K 4 Teacher
Schedule: Full‑time, Monday–Friday
Experience Required:
- Experience creating lesson plans
- Familiarity with Creative Curriculum
- Experience with Heggerty (preferred)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities
- Lesson Planning — Create weekly lesson plans aligned with Creative Curriculum and Indiana Early Learning Standards.
- Heggerty Instruction — Lead daily phonemic awareness lessons with fidelity.
- Circle Time — Facilitate engaging whole‑group learning (calendar, literacy, math, social‑emotional).
- Small Groups — Provide targeted instruction based on student needs and assessment data.
- Classroom Environment — Maintain a warm, organized, and safe classroom that supports independence and exploration.
- Behavior Support — Use positive guidance strategies and follow center behavior‑support procedures.
- Family Communication — Build strong relationships with families through daily updates and ongoing communication.
- Assessment — Track student progress, complete checkpoints, and document observations.
- Supervision — Ensure safety during centers, meals, bathroom breaks, transitions, and outdoor play.
- Collaboration — Work closely with assistant teachers and leadership to maintain a consistent, high‑quality program.
Daily Duties for a Full‑Day Pre‑K 4 Teacher
- Greet children and families during arrival
- Lead breakfast routines and morning centers
- Facilitate morning meeting and literacy block
- Teach Heggerty and Creative Curriculum lessons
- Run small‑group rotations
- Oversee center time, clean‑up routines, and transitions
- Support lunch, rest time, and afternoon activities
- Provide outdoor play supervision
- Document observations and update student portfolios
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
- Communicate daily with families and leadership
Qualifications
- CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Ability to follow state licensing rules and center policies
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Passion for working with young children
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
