Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring supplies are ready
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Take and process dental X-rays, including use of digital imaging and 3D scanners, following all safety protocols
- Enter and maintain accurate clinical documentation using Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Open Dental in compliance with HIPAA
- Review patient medical history and monitor vital signs as needed to support safe treatment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and aseptic techniques
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general or specialty practice; pediatric experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Open Dental
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures
- Ability to perform efficient four-handed chairside assisting
- Experience taking dental X-rays and operating imaging equipment
- Knowledge of infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
- Clear, professional communication skills when interacting with patients and the team
